The Garganta del Chorro is a deep gorge surrounded by hundreds of meters steep cliffs. Here you also find the famous Caminito del Rey (the King's little pathway), one of the most dangerous trails in the world. Only by seeing the two-mile hiking trail that is nailed partly on the cliffs, you get vertigo.

However, the former Caminito del Rey was closed in 1905 because too many accidents happened. What some daredevils and mountaineers doesn't prevent using the path.

In 2006, the Junta de Andalucía released a budget of a few millions for the restoration of the path. Tickets must be ordered in advance and cost 10 euros.

For the visitor who doesn't like to climb but enjoys walking, there is plenty to see in and around the canyon. The surroundings are beautiful. By the surrounding lakes, you can picnic along the shore, rent a boat or lunch at one of the restaurants and enjoy the atmosphere and the view.

While you're in the area you can also visit the ruins of the ancient Moorish fortress town of Bobastro, and rock art in Ardales and the Arab fortress in Alora is also worth a visit.

El Chorro is located on the train route from Málaga to Bobadilla and at the charming station of El Chorro there is a small terrace.

El Chorro lies about 60 km from the finca.
