Gibraltar is a British overseas territory, located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean. It's an area of 6.8 square kilometers and has a northern border with Andalusia, Spain. The Rock of Gibraltar is the major landmark of the area.
A cable car goes from the south of the city to the top of the rock with a stop at the Ape's Den. At the end of the cable car is an observatory with a restaurant, while the highest summit is a military complex.
On the rock lives a monkey colony, imported by the British and kept in a nature reserve. It's a troop of Barbary macaques (Macaca sylvanus), that also lives in Northern Africa. According to the legend, Gibraltar remains in British hands until there are monkeys living on the rock. That's why the population is strictly protected.
Gibraltar lies about 125 km from the finca.
