Originally a small village of fishermen, in the second half of the 20th century Torremolinos became one of the the most popular holiday destinations on the Costa del Sol.

In the 60s and 70s began the flow of foreign tourists to come to Torremolinos, some of which also began to settle (now 130 nationalities).

In the old town at the end of Calle San Miguel stands the Torre de Molinos, a defensive tower built by the Arabs, that gave his name to the town.

But tourists still come mainly to Torremolinos because of the beaches with a total length of 7 km, with many bars, eateries and shops on the boulevard.
